I'd really like to get more local participation going at each event, it's actually more important than the short-term expansion of the Tour participation.
Volunteer(s) to create of Series Flyer for web posting and local distribution.

Minutes of Team Endurance Barefooting Club- July 1, '08

Summer scheduling is tough with all the evening activities, so had a small turn-out. Focused on race schedule updates.

Race Schedule Update
8/16/08: Buckethead Barefoot Classic, Grand Rapids, OH, Maumee River
** Format Change ** Brian would like to focus on local participation growth, so has opt'd to hold an "In-board Only" event. This change eliminates participation from SkiPro's and Malibu/Sanger outboards. This race will no longer be part of the annual Point Series Races, but available teams and individuals are encouraged to round up an in-board and head to the river. Expanded participation will be evaluated again next season as the local hosts build participation and experience.

9/6/08: Mississippi River Race, St Charles, MO
** RACE IS ON ** Despite the tremendous flooding throughout the midwest, Team MVS is confident the mighty Mississippi will be ready to take on all comers in September. With normal weather conditions from here on, normal conditions should return by the end of July.

10/18/08: Music City River Run, Nashville, TN - No Changes.

11/8/08: Dam-to-Dam, Austin, TX - No Changes.

** Possible New Event **
The Colonel Biggs Water Ski Show Team recently contacted me about hosting a race in Montgomery, Alabama. We are still discussing details, but could potentially be a 35-45 mile race on the Alabama River. Dates I'm suggesting would be late September, ideally 9/27. I should have more details to pass along by early next week. Watch the message boards on Barefootendurance.ning.com and Barefootcentral.com for details.


Series Format '08
* If the 4 events hold, we would have the makings for a best 3 out of 4 points series for season standings.
* Rules should generally stand as run last year. Only clarification from last distribution would be that there are NO restrictions on starting skier, can start same skier or different skiers in each race.
* Would like to see us tee up a few additional individual and team awards in addition to Series Champion and Last Man Standing. Clearly not monetary awards, but bragging rights opportunities. Some candidates to initiate discussion: Season Best Showing by non-Series team, Most Improved Individual, etc.
